The insanity of trying exert control over American culture
Trump is looking for excuses to dispatch soldiers to quell disturbances and even protests in America’s cities, where almost 90% of African-Americans live. But force will not be enough, nor will calling these protests “riots.” Trump wants to control American culture, everything from the Smithsonian to the Kennedy Center. What can we expect next? Next the despotic and depraved American gestapo will ban the word black entirely from the English language, now to be called American rather than English.
When we are no longer permitted to say the word black what common words and phrases will be lost? Black boxes, black ink, black Friday, blackheads, blackbirds, black cats, black panthers, black hat, blacklist, black market, black coffee, blackmail and so many more.
If you are white a new Department of Cultural Suppression will direct you substitute the term DEI as the proper replacement. Above all, African-Americans will be prohibited from calling themselves Black. They are authorized to can say Nubian, African-American, Negro or Three-Fifths American. These terms will be understood.
The Orange President has even more ambitious plans to please the Wacko-American community. The new “department” will be tasked with banishing words and phrases not to Trump’s liking.
There are more than 1,000 streets named after Martin Luther King Jr. around the world, as estimated by Derek Alderman, a professor of Geography at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville). In 2018 he reported at least 955 streets named after King in the U.S. in 41 states, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. He found 128 Martin Luther King Jr. thoroughfares in Georgia and just one example in Wyoming and Alaska.
To erase Dr. King from history these bridges, highways, avenues, airports for will be renamed for murderous bigots and assassins of black leaders. The best known are James Earl Ray (who killed King), Byron De La Beckwith (who killed Medgar Evers), the FBI (who killed Malcom X) and the Chicago Police Department (who killed Fred Hampton).
For the hard core Wacko-Americans cultural appropriation is for sissies. Trump’s goal is to make Black America silent and invisible, or at least intimidated. The quiescent American people would quietly go along like good Germans. White America would only be troubled when Trump bans Blacks from football and basketball, and this would provoke nothing more than raised eyebrows and some vague expressions of consternation.
Trump attempts not just to delegitimize but to decapitate his most powerful opponents. There can be no expertise or leadership from agencies of the U.S. government tasked with people citizens safe. The leaders of the nation’s top universities must be defeated and humiliated for no good reason at all. Cities must also be cowed and intimidated. But when he goes after the NBA and the NFL then — maybe — the nation’s White majority might notice something’s up. Trump doesn’t care about football or basketball any more than he cares about crime in DC. What he cannot abide are all those wealthy, successful, independent Black athletes who do not have to kowtow to the White majority anymore. Sooner or later Trump will get around to attacking well-off blacks, as he has already done with the new euphemism “low IQ individual,” a term applied only to Blacks.
Am I the only one looking forward to this particular confrontation? White American is apparently going to roll over in the face of Trump’s illegal seizure of power. Black America? Not so much. Trump’s attack will become full frontal on our Black brethren, those among us who survived slavery and Jim Crow and virulent racism (both individual and institutional) and being confined to deplorable urban ghettos.
Black America isn’t going to return to the back of the bus, just like American women are not going back into the kitchen and LGBTQ Americans are not going back into the closet.
